Participate Community
ACSA provides essential services to individuals with disabilities through Participate Community, fostering inclusion and empowerment. Through tailored programs and support, ACSA enables individuals to actively engage in their communities, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life.
Participate Community:
Participate Community supports help people with disability take part in social, recreational, and community activities. The goal is to build confidence, increase independence, and improve social connections so participants can live a more active and inclusive life.
This support is tailored to each person’s interests, goals, and abilities. It focuses on helping participants engage with their community in meaningful ways, rather than doing things for them.
Examples of support include:

-
Assisting participants to attend social events, community programs, or group activities
-
Supporting participation in sports, hobbies, or fitness activities
-
Helping build social skills and confidence in community settings
-
Providing support to attend classes, workshops, or volunteering opportunities
-
Assisting with planning outings and using community facilities (e.g. libraries, parks, shops)
-
Supporting safe travel to and from community activities
Overall, Participate Community supports aim to reduce isolation, promote inclusion, and empower participants to actively engage in everyday community life.
